Project planning and research for interior architecture (3 points)

Synopsis: This subject investigates project and research management strategies. Topics include research methods and their application, the range of interior architecture (research) issues, users, clients, technology, regulations, sites, environment and ecology/heritage. The range of project management issues includes: contracts, contract law, contract administration, tendering and negotiation, planning authority approvals, cost planning, staff resources allocation, costing, and budget planning. Computer-based construction schedules and resource allocation, time schedules, and critical path networks for sub-projects with multi-activites, are also considered.

Assessment: Investigative report:40% + Projects:60%

Contact Hours: 2 taught hours and 4 independent study hours per week
