Perspectives on Teaching (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit examines a range of perspectives on teaching as well as skills of teaching in different contexts. The course builds on the understandings of ability, learning and motivation that were developed in EDF1301 and looks at the relevance and implications of these for teaching. Students learn to recognise, appreciate and critique the elements of teaching in different sites and circumstances.

Assessment: Written assignment (1000 words): 25% + A major assignment based on practicum experience (1600 words): 40% + A written assignment (1400 word equivalence): 35% + Attendance requirement: Eighty percent + Hurdle requirement: 5 days observation
