Synopsis: An introduction to the psychology of learning as a framework for interpreting educational experiences. Students will explore learning situations, the types of knowledge that are learned, and the nature of and approaches to learning that are used in these situations. Emphasis will be placed on relating learning principles to learning in other first-year units.

Assessment: Written assignment (1000 words): 25% + A major assignment based on practicum experience (1600 words): 40% + A written assignment (1400 word equivalence): 35% + Attendance requirement: Eighty percent + Hurdle requirement: 5 days observation
