The Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Gerontics) is offered part-time via off- campus learning or by mixed mode, over two years. The mixed-mode offering includes a combination of off-campus learning study materials, on-campus seminars and clinical fieldwork. The course structure consists of eight core units in gerontics.
Applicants would normally have a degree in nursing or a related discipline; registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria (Division 1 or eligible for registration); and at least one year of nursing experience. Experience in the relevant area of practice is desirable.
At Peninsula, there will be a series of seminars on campus throughout the semester to support study materials and clinical fieldwork.
Assessment includes assignments, an individual student learning contract, program development, research proposal, computer assessment and project.
