This course has been designed to provide high-level training in the fields of international trade, diplomacy, international law policies, and contemporary international politics. It would contribute to the development of private and public sector managers engaged in international trade, diplomatic staff, workers in international organisations and NGOs, and other professionals interested in these areas.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a
recognised tertiary institution, or an executive certificate from this faculty
with a credit average or above.
This is a fee-paying course. Applicants should consult the Department of
Management as to the 2003 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually
and are therefore subject to change.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of three credit exemptions for units
considered to be equivalent to particular units in the course of study. Credit
is restricted to study completed in the last five years. The course director
assesses credit exemptions.
Applicants are required to satisfactorily complete the first four compulsory
units and two elective units that form the Graduate Diploma in Diplomacy and
Trade component before progressing to the remainder of the masters course.
The course consists of four core units and four electives. Students should complete four 9000-level graduate units before commencing 5000-level units.

Management providing the selection meets overall course objectives and receives
course director approval.

In place of one elective taught by the Department of Management, students may
select one unit from other departments in the Faculty of Business and
Economics, or other faculties of Monash University, providing the selection
meets overall course objectives and receives course director approval.
