Synopsis: Theories of international business strategy. Topics include the relationship between environmental scanning and strategic planning; methods of developing a strategic plan; choice of foreign operation and its implications in terms of management control; strategic issues in choice of sole venture, joint venture and cooperative alliance modes; the impact of culture on strategy; regional and global integration; the role of government, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate governance and corporate level strategy.

Assessment: Two written assignments (3000 words each): 30% each + Examination (2 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 3-hour class per week, block mode

Prerequisites: Must have passed four 9000-level units
