Diploma of Engineering (Industrial Management)

General Information

Course code: 1829 + Gippsland campus + HECS fees applicable + International student course fee: $37,000 + Attendance is not compulsory

Aims

The Diploma of Engineering (Industrial Management) is a two-year equivalent full-time course by off-campus learning providing training and education in basic business and industrial management procedures. It also gives the option of studies in basic engineering units. The course provides good supervision/ management education for people working in such positions as technical officers, engineering assistants, and engineering and industrial supervisors. It is a very useful course for people wanting to advance into supervisory or management positions.
The course is designed for part-time study, causing minimum interference to employment by use of off-campus learning options with weekend schools in some units.

Entry requirements

(a) Successful completion of a Year 12 secondary school course of study, including a pass in English (any) (VCE in Victoria or equivalent in other states, or International Baccalauereate), or
(b) Completion of the first year of a TAFE associate diploma or advanced certificate (level 4 or above), or
(c) Completion of at least two semester-length units at degree or associate-diploma level, including any non-award/single-unit studies, or
(d) Completion of two approved units through Open Learning Agency of Australia.
Note: Completion of two units from these course units on a fee-paying basis is considered equivalent. Anybody is welcome to enrol in a single unit without enrolling in the full course, however a complete qualification is best and can only be gained by applying for a course (and passing it).
