Authorship and writing

6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland, Malaysia and OCDL + Prerequisites: GSC1402, GSC1901 or equivalent + Prohibition: GSC2415, GSC3407

Synopsis: This unit combines the study of ideas of authorsip with the critical study of a number of texts. The notion of authorship will be interrogated in relation to a variety of writing practices. The Romantic idea of the author (and that of the film auteur) will be examined in the light of recent critical theories.

Assessment: Essay (2000 words): 40% + Examination (2.5 hours): 60%
