General information

The Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting) double-award program is vocationally oriented and aims to equip graduates for employment in a wide range of occupations in industry and commerce, small business, professional accounting, insurance, banking and finance, teaching and in government and semi-government enterprises.
The Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting) offers students the opportunity to graduate with two separate awards, a Bachelor of Business and Commerce from Monash University and an Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting) from the Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE.

Entry requirements

Applicants must comply with the current Bachelor of Business and Commerce entry requirements.

Course structure

The Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting) is normally taken over four years of full-time study or eight years of part-time study. This course will require students to undertake a mix of Bachelor of Business and Commerce units and Advance Diploma of Business (Accounting) units.

Students will receive the following eight credits and exemptions on the basis of successfully completing the TAFE Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting):

To complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Business and Commerce/ Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting), students must complete the following:
(a) a total of 96 credit points towards the Bachelor of Business and Commerce
(b) the following core compulsory Bachelor of Business and Commerce units:

(c) completion of a business major sequence of at least 48 points (eight units), including at least 12 points at each of second and third levels (one core unit from part (a) may form part of the 48 points requirement)
(d) a maximum of 10 units may be taken at first-year level
(e) at least six third-year-level units, of which at least four must be taken from units offered by the Faculty on the Gippsland campus
(f) at least four elective units must be outside the main field of study
(g) the Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE requirements for the Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting).
Bachelor of Business and Commerce major studies are available in the following areas:

** A 'CORE' UNIT IN THE BACHELOR OF BUSINESS AND COMMERCE.
