Master of Business Management


General information

The Master of Business Management is designed for graduates who wish to increase their knowledge and skills associated with understanding and applying management and business theory and practice in general, and specifically in relation to managing business organisations locally, regionally, internationally and globally. Students will develop an advanced and mature level of attributes in the area of written and oral communication, enquiry, information literacy, self-direction, teamwork, global outlook, moral and social responsibility and creativity.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, or an executive certificate from this faculty with an average of credit or above.
Familiarity with the use of computers and computer packages including the internet, word processing, presentations and spreadsheets is essential. The current university standard is Windows 95/98 and 2000. Monash provides significant study resources and online databases via the world wide web and access to the internet is essential.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of eight credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study completed in the last five years. Refer to the course director for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Faculty of Business and Economics -- Gippsland as to the 2002 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.

The course comprises six core units and six elective units as follows:
