Contemporary issues in employment relations

(BUS)

6 points + Distance, approximately 12 hours per week + First semester + Prerequisite: either MGW2323, MGW2430 or MGW2326 + Prohibition: MGG3351

Synopsis: Students choose issues based on their future research or vocational interests from a range of employment relations, industrial relations and human resource areas including the role of public policy, industrial democracy and worker participation, management strategy and control, industrial legislation, the role of trade unions, equal opportunity, affirmative action, industrial restructuring etc.

Assessment: Assignment one (2000 words): 20% + Assignment two (3000 words): 30% + Assignment 3: (5000 words): 50%
