GSE3703Computer instrumentation and control(ENG)
K Spriggs 4 points + 13 lecture hours, 26 laboratory hours, 13 hours supported self-study (on-campus) + Equivalent 104 hours private study (distance) + Second semester + Gippsland/distance + Prerequisites: GSE2003, GSE3701 Synopsis: Distributed industrial control systems including both local and SCADA implementations. PC based data acquisition and control hardware. Data acquisition and logging from remote transducers. Software development for control implementation using PC communication ports and commercially available control/data acquisition cards. Control workstation software design for integrated industrial control systems including: control algorithms, annuniciation, virtual instrumentation, remote control actuation and safety interlock systems. Assessment: Theory examination (2 hours): 40% + Laboratory-based assignments: 60% |
