Measurement and instrumentation

Synopsis: Basic types of movements in current measurements and errors in a measurement due to loading, waveform etc. Digital and analog oscilloscope. Transducers theory and practice, signal conditioning. Introduction to principles of data acquisition using computers, IEEE 488 instrumentation bus system and virtual instrumentation (LabVIEW), problems involved in data transmission due to electromagnetic and electrostatic interference.

Assessment: Examination: 70% + Assignment: 20% + Participation: 10%
