GSE3701Engineering computer applications(ENG)
K Spriggs 4 points + 26 lecture hours, 26 laboratory hours (on-campus) + 8*13 hours private study (distance) + First semester, Gippsland/distance + First/second semester, Malaysia + Prerequisite: Substantial completion of second level of the Mechatronics course, including GSE2701 Synopsis: Conceptual design of integrated engineering software. Development of event driven user interfaces for effective and efficient data/selection control. Theory and use of a modern object oriented language as a software engineering tool. Development of skills in using a comprehensive IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for program design/development/debugging tasks. Techniques for processing and inputting realworld engineering data in engineering software utilising engineering algorithms drawn from standards and practice. Design of engineering reporting/decision systems with emphasis on graphics/animation/tabulation/charting outputs for decision support. Assessment: Examination (Computer Managed Learning): 25% + Laboratory-based assignments: 25% + Individual student project: 50% |
