Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology

General information

This course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, is designed to assist clinicians who wish to familiarise themselves with clinical research methodology, and to individuals employed in public health-related positions who wish to upgrade their skills in epidemiology. The course may be completed in one year full-time or over two years part-time. The course aims to provide a detailed understanding of the subjects of epidemiology and biostatistics to a level that enables critical and detailed appraisal of epidemiological literature and the conduct of projects requiring epidemiological and biostatistical expertise.
Applicants must have a medical degree, a bachelors degree with honours or graduate diploma, or a three-year bachelors degree with relevant professional experience in a health-related field. The department will individually assess applications from students with a nursing diploma completed before the introduction of nursing degrees. In such instances, the department may require completion of the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trials before enrolling in the graduate diploma.
