This 12-subject course is designed for Australian and international graduates
in the public and not-for-profit sectors, or government relations areas of
private organisations.
The course focuses on understanding the policy-making and managerial processes
of the public sector and will provide the conceptual framework and analytical
skills to identify problems and analyse alternative solutions. The course also
focuses on understanding the political and social environment and provides
expertise across a range of policy and management areas and professional
leadership skills for leadership in the public service.
The degree may be completed by either a coursework option or by a coursework
and research paper option.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised
tertiary institution, or an executive certificate offered by this faculty with
an average grade of credit or above. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum
of eight credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to
particular requirements in the course of study. Refer to the course director
for details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Management as to the 2001 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually
and are therefore subject to change.
