Mr Alan Hunt 6 points + 3-hour class per week + Second semester + City Synopsis: This subject covers the roles, responsibilities, composition and functions of boards in the not-for-profit sector and the management performance and accountability challenges presented by these. Also examined is the legal framework in which not-for-profit organisations operate, the implications for management, including incorporation, director's duties, taxation, insolvency, property and contract law, and the relationships between these organisations and their stakeholders, including governments. Assessment: Essay (3500-5000 words): 25% + Syndicate assignment (1000-2000 words): 15% + Two minor exercises (250 words each): 10% + Attendance and participation: 5% + Examination: 45% |
