Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) - BBus(Bkg&Fin)
Course code: To be advised · The following describes the new course
structure, to be introduced for the first time in 2000 and is applicable to
both on-campus students at Caulfield and distance education students
The
following six subjects are compulsory:
In
addition to the two compulsory subjects below, students must select four from
the remaining eight subjects:
- · AFX2051 Financial modelling [compulsory]
- · AFX2631Financial management [compulsory]
- · BTX2601 Banking law
- · BTX3931 Taxation law
- · ECX1200/ECX2200 Macroeconomics
- · ETX2121 Data analysis in business
- · MGX2351 International business
- · MGX3401 Strategic management
- · MKX2111 Buyer behaviour
- · MKF2500 Retail management principles
The
following six subjects are compulsory for students in the Bachelor of Business
(Banking and Finance):
- · AFF1300 Money and capital markets
- · AFF2401 Commercial banking and finance
- · AFF3121 Investments and portfolio management
- · AFF3651 Treasury management
- · AFF3331 International banking and finance
- · AFF3841 Lending decisions
In
addition to the above 18 subjects in the 144-point program, students must
choose six electives from any discipline within any faculty, subject to
approval from other faculties.
The new course structure introduces greater flexibility and the following
additional regulations must be observed:
- · The number of first-year-level subjects must not exceed 10
(60 credit points).
- · A minimum of six third-year-level subjects (36 credit points)
of which at least four must be from those offered by the faculty on the campus
delivering the program.
- · At least two (12 credit points) of the free electives must be
taken outside the main field of study.
