Nursing practice 3B: Acute medical/surgical nursing B

6 points + 5 hours per week (lectures, tutorials, labs) plus 75 hours clinical + First or second semester + Gippsland and Peninsula + Prerequisites: NUR1101, NUR1102, NUR1301, NUR1302

Synopsis: A problem-solving approach to the provision of care to acutely ill persons across the lifespan. Concepts include regulation, perfusion and locomotion. Each concept will be applied to a variety of illness states and utilised in decision making regarding appropriate nursing care of patients in these categories.

Assessment: Assignment: 30% + Class Test: 30% + Examination: 40% + Laboratory: Pass/fail + Clinical assessment: Pass/fail, 100% attendance mandatory.
