Synopsis: The role of the journalist in the /information society0. Issues of access and distribution. Application and potential of electronic journalism. Legal and ethical issues confronting the online journalist. Contemporary debates about electronic networks and online news, for example the projected demise of newspapers and the role of the electronic literacy in contemporary society.

Assessment: Continuous assessment: 70% + Essay (2000 words): 30%
