Synopsis: The ways journalism can be conceptualised and the various conditions under which journalism is practised (political, social, cultural) through the practice of news writing. A particular focus will be the professional and ethical codes and responsibilities of journalism, including both specific legal issues and the wider question of journalism0s role in creating an informed citizenry.
Assessment: Four written/research assignments (6000 words): 100%
