Synopsis: Analysis of the strengths, the weaknesses and the applications of selected contemporary communication theories, perspectives, strategies and models to ethical and effective professional and business interaction; practical research skills; systematic inquiry and rational debate; the application of a range of research and writing skills and strategies to provide an electronic portfolio of technical, business and professional documents, including requirements specifications and tender documents. Effective communication, cooperation and negotiation within a team environment. Effective intercultural communication.

Assessment: Three assignments: Team electronic portfolio of technical and business documents: (25%), Team research project and presentation: (25%), Individual project and multimedia presentation: (20%). A two hour examination: (30%)
