Globalisation is resulting in increased competition both domestically and
internationally for Australian industries. Such competition will inevitably
result in management capability becoming a key factor in business success or
failure. This distinctive, specialised course has been especially designed to
provide business personnel with an in-depth understanding of current practices
and future developments in international business.
On completion of the course, students will have:
Candidates need to have completed, with an average grade of credit or above, either an honours degree or graduate diploma in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Management as to the 1999 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of four credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Please refer to the course director for further details.
Classes are offered in evening, and/or Friday/Saturday teaching modes at Caulfield campus.
The Master of Management (International Business) is normally completed in four semesters of part-time study or two semesters of full-time study.
The
course consists of eight subjects
(a) Two core subjects
(b) Two tagged core subjects
(c) Two electives from the following subjects:
(d) (i) Two general elective
subjects from the graduate offerings of the Department of Management, or two
subjects taught by other departments in the faculty. In approved instances,
electives can be chosen from other faculties*. Elective choice requires Course
Director approval; or
(d) (ii) Research paper (equivalent to two subjects). Students selecting the
research paper option must study or qualify for exemption from MGF5430 Business
research methods
*A MAXIMUM OF TWO LEVEL '9' SUBJECTS CAN BE CHOSEN.
