The Asia-Pacific region has achieved rapid economic growth in the last twenty
years and now plays a significant role in the international economy. Australian
business has already made much of the new opportunities available in Asia.
However, much more can be done. Whether firms can take full advantage of
opportunities in Asian markets depends largely on the skills of their
management personnel. This distinctive, specialised course has been designed
to provide a broad understanding of current practices and future developments
in Asian business.
On completion of the course, students will:
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants without a first degree who have a minimum of six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive certificates.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Management as to the 1999 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
The Graduate Certificate in Asian Business is normally completed in one semester of full-time study or two semesters of part-time study.
Classes are offered in evening and/or in Friday/Saturday teaching modes at the Caulfield campus.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of two credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. Please refer to the course director for further details.

course consists of four subjects:
(a) One core subject
(b) Three electives chosen from the following subjects:
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Asian Business may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in International Business.
