Objectives Students successfully completing both parts one (CHI2470) and two should have developed the ability to speak Mandarin fluently and accurately; the ability to transcribe Chinese characters in pinyin; the oral/aural ability for formal and informal modes of communication across a range of social and business contexts; the ability to write formal correspondence using appropriate business vocabulary; a knowledge of mainland Chinese business practices.
Synopsis Further development of advanced conversational skills in Mandarin. Fluency and accuracy in Mandarin will be emphasised.
Assessment Weekly oral/aural exercises: 40% Written examination (4 hours): 30% Oral examination: 30%
