Objectives Students are expected to acquire skills and understanding related to aircraft stability and control.
Synopsis Topics covered are aircraft stability and static equilibrium which includes the forces and moments acting on aircraft; general aircraft performance in level flight, take-off, climbing and landing; the effect of aircraft components such as wings, stabilisers on aircraft static stability; aircraft control surfaces and control surface devices; the trimmed equilibrium condition and its effects on performance.
Assessment Examination (3 hours): 70%
