Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic knowledge and understanding of statitistical process control.
Synopsis Non-destructive testing methods for metals and non-metals. Radiography, ultrasonics, crack detection and advanced methods. Metrology: principles, standards, methods and instruments for size, geometry and size roughness. Quality control: national and international quality standards, introduction to statistical quality control and process control, process capabilities, control charts acceptance sampling, pre- and in-process control.
Assessment Examination (3 hours): 60%
