Objectives Using a calculator or suitable software, to apply techniques of data analysis including traditional and exploratory (EDA); to apply inferential techniques - confidence intervals, hypothesis testing; to calculate regression and correlation coefficients.
Synopsis Data analysis: graphical methods of presenting data. Probability and statistics. Estimation and inference. Regression and correlation. Scatter plots. Introduction to suitable computer packages for statistical application to manufacturing.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 70%
