Objectives The aim of this subject is to allow students to undertake an industrial engineering approach to the critical analysis and design of manufactured products.

Synopsis Value analysis and value engineering techniques. Materials and process selection. Design for assembly and product design aesthetics. Manufacturing tooling, product costing. Design morphology and development.

Assessment Examination: 70%
* Assignments: 30%
