Objectives The student is expected to acquire the skills and experience necessary for the selection and technical specification of complex mechanical components.
Synopsis Selection, design and technical specifications for engineering plant and thermal or fluid machinery; heat exchanger design, fluid power symbols and systems design. Noise, its effects and control. Environmental constraints on design. Legal and other requirements for machine safety.
