Objectives To impart to the student a basic understanding of the principles that make electronic components function in an apparently different manner at radio frequencies compared to lower frequencies and to utilise this understanding in the design of RF circuits and devices.

Synopsis Introduction: a study of components and their performance variation with frequency. S parameter theory, small-signal amplifier design, matching techniques and microstrip circuit design. Computer-aided microwave circuit analysis and design.
