Process design and operation II

Objectives The student is expected to develop skills in plant and equipment design; to recognise causes of hazards and develop skills in safe plant design; and to recognise constraints and limitations in design data, methods and solutions.

Synopsis A second design course covering heat exchanger design, engineering flowsheeting, technical safety and an introduction to plant costing.

Assessment Examinations: 60%
* Project work: 40%
