Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to plan units of work appropriate to their classes and implement these through suitably structured lesson plans; be able to demonstrate teaching skills in such areas as questioning, exposition, demonstration, motivation, use of aids and materials, communication and monitoring pupil progress; have developed suitable management skills to maintain, simultaneously, over-all classroom management and attention to individual learning; have a sound working knowledge of how to measure and evaluate pupil learning; have developed an awareness of the context of being teachers in the context of larger organisations such as schools, colleges and other educational or training contexts.
Synopsis Forty days of supervised school experience in secondary schools undertaking teaching practice in two curriculum areas.
Assessment Satisfactory completion of supervised school experience: 100%
