Teaching studies II: skills of teaching

Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have further developed their lesson planning and implementation skills; learned a variety of approaches to unit planning and implementation; developed professional competencies beyond immediate classroom skills; developed student management skills.

Synopsis Topics covered include teaching skills (questioning, reinforcement, variability, explaining, introduction and closure), classroom management, measurement and evaluation and classroom organisation. The subject is taught by lectures, workshops and supervised teaching in schools.

Assessment Assignment: 40%
* Project: 60%
* Satisfactory supervised school experience
