The Master of Business (Retail and Wholesale) is designed to cater for experienced retail/wholesale managers, generally graduates from disciplines other than retail/marketing, who wish to undertake study in retail business subjects at this level. No other University in Australia currently offers such a program. This course builds on the department's retail/wholesale specialisation in graduate certificate and graduate diploma level studies.

The objectives of the course focus on key areas of study through which the students will be able to:

Admission requirements

Applicants need to have completed, with an average grade of credit or above, an honours degree in a relevant discipline, or the Graduate Diploma in Retail and Wholesale, or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Fees

This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Marketing as to the 1998 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.

Duration

Generally students will undertake the degree part-time over two years.

Mode of offering

All subjects are delivered by distance education from the Caulfield campus.

Credit for work done elsewhere

Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of four credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Please refer to the course director for further details.

Recognised by the Retailers' Council of Australia.

The course consists of seven core subjects and one elective.
