Objectives On completing this subject and RUS2120 students should have acquired a practical understanding of Russian grammar; be able to speak, read, write and understand the standard language at a level of basic communication; be able to translate simple sentences from English into Russian; have gained a basic knowledge of selected literary texts.

Synopsis Advanced grammar, composition, conversation and textual work. The emphasis is on the acquisition of fluency, both oral and written.

Assessment Written (2000 words): 20%
* Examinations (2 hours): 60%
* Oral work: 20%
