* Prerequisites: Sociology major, two second-level subjects; gender studies major, two of GSC2207 GSC2406, GSC2409, GSC2505

Objectives As for GSC2203 with the additional objective of developing a child-centred theoretical perspective.

Synopsis As for GSC2203.

Assessment Assignment (1800 words): 30%
* Seminar presentation or group project (equivalent to 1800 words): 30%
* Theoretical essay (2400 words): 40%
* Gender studies students topics for all assignments will include a focus on gender issues
* For the theoretical essay students doing this subject a third-year level must build on sociological theories to develop a child-centred perspective
