Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students will have developed a deeper understanding of issues of importance in contemporary Indonesian life, and will have developed the ability to communicate fluently and effectively both orally and in writing.
Synopsis A range of materials taken from the media are utilised to introduce students to issues in Indonesian society, and at the same time these form the basis for an extended examination of Indonesian grammatical structures and developing speaking and writing skills, using appropriate style and register.
Assessment Two progress tests 30%

* Daily assignments: 10%

final mark is calculated by staff in Indonesia under supervision of the Monash
University coordinator.
