Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should have developed a deeper understanding of the Indonesian language, having a command of an expanded vocabulary, more complex syntax, and be able to use communicative skills in a range of social situations. Students gain an appreciation of the place of Indonesian lieterature in society.
Synopsis Lectures are devoted to a discussion of the development of Indonesian literature, and literary materials from a variety of sources and genres are read and analysed from a cultural, social and grammatical viewpoint.
Assessment Two progress tests: 30%

* Daily assignments: 10%

final mark is calculated by staff in Indonesia under supervision of the Monash
University coordinator.
