Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should approach contemporary art practice and aesthetics with challenge and vigour; be able to establish a personalised and informed discourse within the context of visual arts, crafts and design practice; be independent in work practice and problem solving; demonstrate personal and professional development and a clear commitment and dedication to the discipline; be proficient in applying health and safety procedures associated with studio practice.

Synopsis Students are encouraged to develop a body of work that demonstrates an informed, mature and professional approach to studio practice. Students continue to critically appraise the work and constantly monitor progress in conjunction with the supervisor and consolidate all conceptual, aesthetic and technical issues which relate to the individual direction of students' work.
