Chemistry is a central science underpinning much of the industrial and research activity in our modern society. This market-oriented chemistry course is designed to produce graduates for this highly sophisticated and technologically based society. The course has a major focus on chemical knowledge, practical skills and analytical techniques which are applicable to a range of industries including plastics, petrochemical, power, paper, mining, agricultural, food and pharmaceutical. Graduates will fit easily into the modern scientific world in positions ranging from industrial or research scientists, to environmental regulatory officers, teachers and laboratory managers.

Course requirements

Within the BAppSc regulations, students complete the chemistry major sequence together with at least one of the applied chemistry, physical science or biochemistry major sequences, plus subjects GAS1383, GAS2281.
