The Master of Management (Operations Systems) by coursework is designed to enhance and develop the skills and industry knowledge of professional staff in the manufacturing and service sectors as well as infrastructure support industries such as trade unions, banking and finance, technology development and supply.
This course has been designed to provide business executives with key operations management knowledge and skills. It emphasises internationally competitive practices.
It is expected that most graduates of the course may already be working in the operations area. Many participants will already have working experience at the middle management level or expect to be promoted to a senior management position in the near future. Many will be in functional specialisations.
It is expected that graduates of this program will aspire to be promoted rapidly to senior-level operations management positions. The exposure of Australian industries to increased domestic and international competition has increased the demand for highly educated individuals at senior management level.
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
Applicants need to have completed, with an average grade of credit or above, an honours degree in the discipline or the Graduate Diploma in Operations Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Business Management as to the 1977 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
The Master of Management (Operations Systems) is normally completed in two semesters of full-time study or four semesters of part-time study.
Evening classes are offered on-campus at the Caulfield campus.
No credit for work done previously is available in this masters degree.
