General

Logistics management is the planning, coordinating and controlling of the resources and information involved in the flow of materials and products from source to the final customer. The aim of this course is to extend the knowledge of people who already have relevant work experience in the planning and management of logistic support areas of business, the public service or the defence forces.

On completion of the course students should:

Entrance requirements

Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution plus a minimum of two years relevant employment experience, or an executive certificate from this faculty with an average grade of credit or above.

Fees

This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Syme Department of Marketing as to the 1997 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.

Duration

The Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management is normally completed in four semesters of part-time study.

Mode of offering

This course is offered as a series of eight one-week residential blocks on-campus at the Peninsula campus.

Credit for work done previously

Please refer to the course director for the Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management for details relating to credit transfers. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of four credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. Please refer to the course director for further details.

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management with an average grade of credit or above may apply for admission to the Master of Business (Logistics Management).
