Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject students should have been introduced to the repertoire for either the symphonic wind ensemble, orchestra or the choir and have developed an approach to assessing Western musical traditions from the Middle Ages to the Classical period.
Synopsis Orchestral and choral rehearsals and performance are underpinned by lectures on the history and theory of the Western tradition. Note: BPA vocal students receive special group vocal training.
Assessment Written (2000 words): 30%
* Practical examination/concert
performance: 70%
