Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should feel at ease in approaching a variety of Japanese everyday texts, be able to read for content and meaning with pleasure and fluency; have an ability to use Japanese dictionaries for reading, and be familiar with grammar patterns used in everyday communication.
Synopsis This subject acquaints students with various features of the Japanese language through the reading of Japanese texts. Readings cover a wide range of topics in many different subjects including Japanese literature, economics and society.
Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 50%
