Objectives On succesful completion of this subject, students should have developed a further understanding of the Indonesian language, have a command of an expanded vocabulary, new and more complex syntax, new oral conventions and should be able to put into practice that new acquired knowledge to communicate in a more complex social situations. They should also have developed an understanding of aspects of the role of Indonesian literature in society.
Synopsis In the first of two weekly lectures passages from literary prose are read and analysed from a grammatical as well as a cultural viewpoint. The second lecture is devoted to a discussion of Indonesian literature.
Assessment Written (750 words): 25%
* Examination: (2 hours): 50%
* Two tests: 25%
