Synopsis

The project fosters independent work and problem-solving abilities. The results of the research project are written up in a thesis and reported in a seminar.

Outcomes

On completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. Conduct an independent research project in geosciences, including project planning, time management, and goal development;
  2. Describe the current research in one or more disciplines that will fit them for future research or employment;
  3. Communicate orally and in written form;
  4. Explain OHS and risk management as it pertains to geosciences research;
  5. Effectively and critically review the scientific literature.
