DescriptionThe Master of Tourism is a broad-based multidisciplinary program with strong international and industry links, specifically designed to equip students with the skills required to develop a career in the tourism (or associated) industry. It seeks to provide students with a strategic understanding of how the industry operates and how academic theories are applicable to it. Areas of study covered in the program include marketing and international marketing, cultural tourism, development and planning, information technology, environmental studies, research techniques, cross-cultural and regional studies, and communications. ObjectivesStudents successfully completing this course will have:
International exchangesStudents are encouraged to undertake part of their studies overseas in order to broaden their understanding of the international market. The exchanges are specifically designed for those students who have a particular interest in international marketing but are available to all students. Exchanges are available with the following universities: Uppsala University (Sweden), London Metropolitan University (UK), Estonian Business School (Estonia). Approval must be obtained from the course coordinator and the faculty well before departure. StructureThis course consists of 36 points of core units and 12 points of electives at level four, and one 12-point core and 12 points of electives at level five.
