DescriptionGeography and environmental science is concerned with understanding dimensions, complexities and relationships of the physical, human and environmental world. The school has an active research program that provides research training and the foundations for interactions across a range of government, non-government and industry sectors. There are a number of broad research strengths within the school including:

For all requirements including the research/thesis component refer to the full course entry at http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/2011handbooks/courses/2846.html. The course is intended for students wishing to obtain an internationally accepted research degree in areas such as geography, environment and sustainability, and geographical information systems (GIS), which testifies to high standards of initiative, independence and innovation and which, if gained at a sufficient standard, is accepted as a qualification for admission to the PhD. UnitsStudents complete 24 points of level five units offered by the School of Geography and Environmental Science, or from other schools, subject to approval.
