DescriptionOffered by the Centre for Australian Indigenous Studies at ClaytonThe Centre for Australian Indigenous Studies (CAIS) has been offering Indigenous studies at the undergraduate level since 1978, and runs a successful honours program. The Centre now offers research programs at the masters and doctoral level. Areas of research include Indigenous education, the history of colonisation of Australia, Aboriginal rock music, Indigenous performance, racism and sport, and public policy. Offered by the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences at GippslandThe School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences (HUMCASS) offers Indigenous Studies at undergraduate, honours, postgraduate diploma and doctoral level. Studies can be taken through both on-campus and off-campus study. Areas of research include politics, public policy, racism, education, art, literature and history.
